Volcanic Ash Exfoliator and Thermal Mask Review & my surprise

Okay, so after a few weeks of trying both i think i can give an honest opinion on them. Both products have been sold out at every mac counter i checked, so here is what I personally think....

Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
"A highly effective, dual-purpose, foaming and exfoliating scrub blending natural Volcanic Ash with fine sugar crystals from the islands of Vanuatu. Adds moisture: leaves skin feeling soft and comfortably clean. Mineral-rich. Good for absorbing skin’s natural oils. May be used on any part of face or body. Rinses off with warm water.

Pros:
-Made my skin incredibly soft!
-Great packaging

Cons:
-Definitely do not like the smell :( even after several uses, it just doesnt work out for me lol
-not sure if this is by coincidence, but EVERY time i've used it, it caused a breakout. i've used it more than 5 times, and each time....a new mini breakout.
-limited edition
-somewhat expensive for an exfoliator
-veryyy messy around the sink

Overall, im not in love with this exfoliator, i'd prefer my clinique exfoliator over this one, and it smells a lot better! i didnt think this would have caused breakouts, but again each time i used it the next morning i saw a breakout. so weird!! i really wanted to love this product, but i dont think its working out for me right now. i have one and one backup, i think im going to return the backup and just keep the one to try in the future, maybe my skin will like it later haha but for now, its going under my sink back into the box.

Pros:
-Again made my skin sooo soft
-Great packaging
-Not hard to remove....unlike the queen hele mask (which i love) but is so hard to remove cuz it gets soo hard
-Waming effect...gives u like a spa like experience
-Not overly drying
-Feel like my skin looks more radiant the next morning

Cons:
-Price
-Messy
-Limited edition

I loveeee this product soo much. again i have one product and one back up and im definitely keeping both. I just love how my face looks and feels after its use.

So thats my two cents let me know what you thought about any of these products :)

Style Black Volcanic Ash Exfoliator & Thermal Heat Mask

After a longggg awaited time....I FINALLY get to try these :)

I got them at our Pro store here since they always release collections early...my bf surprised me with the mask yesterday and got me the exfoliator today & i got a back up just cuz :)...the MUA told me the thermal mask has already been sold out at their location! crazy! i could only imagine when the collection actually releases tomorrow...makes me want to get a back up of that too! haha she told me she stocked up and got 3 of each!

Real quickly, I tried the thermal mask last night and it was a lot more pleasant than I expected. Felt a little weird when it really did heat up but so far so good....going to try the infamous exfoliator tonight, after hearing soooo many good things about it. im excited!!!

MAC MOISTURE TINT REVIEW

Hey everyone!

As you all know a few weeks ago my boyfriend got me the moisture tint. I've given it a few weeks until I wrote this review so I get a good idea to how much I really like this product so heres my two cents :)

What they say:

A light, tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 and other skin-nourishing ingredients. An easy one-step finish specially suited for the season, this sheer tint provides just enough coverage to even out the skintone while creating a flawless protected, softly moisturized finish. Suitable for all skintones.

My Opinion =) :

I've been using this almost everyday unless i don't wear anything at all. when im in a rush i use my fingers to blend, if i've got a bit of time i use my Sigma SS190 which works great with this product! Then I use MAC's studio sculpt concealer for my undereyes and on the days where my skin doesnt want to co operate i use a big of my studio sculpt foundation on small blemishes with my MAC 109 brush. To set I use my SS150 brush and my mineralized skin finish natural and thats it :) its super fast and works well enough to make my skin look healthy. I like the idea of not putting heavy foundation during hot summer days which im sure everyone can agree, so this has been my everyday foundation routine for the past few weeks and has been working great. The second day i used the TM we sat on a patio all night and it was super humid. looking back at my pictures i noticed my face was super oily so i was a bit concerned it was the TM. But when i continued to try it out it wasnt so bad, so i guess that night was just because of the humidity. Other than that day to day its been prettty good at holding up with oil control, but im still on the look out for some type of matte primer or foundation...if anyone has any recs let me know :)

Pros:
Lightweight, enough for an everyday on-the-go type
blends soosoo well!
great packaging
has an spf of 15
no breakouts! lol


Cons:
Could be too little coverage for the bad days :P

This is definitely my daily go to product, makes everything so much easier in the morning to get ready :) Hopefully this product works for you too!

What I cannot live without....right now :)

I decided to do a "what i can't live without right now" post since as im sure like many of you our faves change all the time! lol but heres a breakdown of what im currently using and what i <3>

1. Mineralized Foundation:
Since its spring almost summer i try to steer away from the heavy foundations. Lately i've been using my mineralized satinfinish foundation mixed with moisturizer to thin it out a bit. its been my daily use lately.... on my lazy days: i just moisturize my face then use mineralized skin finish natural when im not looking for that much coverage or just going out for a few hours....ORRR when im lazy heh

2. Soft and Gentle MSF
since my blush/bronzer changes daily or depending on my mood...regardless of which i use, i tend to use my soft and gentle MSF paired with whatever blush/bronzer im using. It gives such a pretty subtle glow I <33 3. Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara
theee best drug store brand mascara in my books :)

4. Carmex
i absolutely hateeee going out without this! i remember once i left it in my other purse and i was dyinggg without it! loll im thinking of getting some backups to keep around cuz its just that good! ...wouldnt hurt that its so cheap! lol

5. Loreal Lineur Intense eyeliner
this suff is awesome...no need to explain cuz im sure ya'll know! heh

6. bath & body works hand sanitizer
....or and hand sanitizer in general i hateee germs esp with swine and all eeks. everytime im out and i get a chance u can find me putting on sanitizer...for everyone from Toronto you know how they added those sanitizer dispencers outside of the stations at dundas and all around eatoln center...yup those r my best friends! heh since i get off at dundas to get to school u can always find me standing at one of those right when i get out ...foooor sure!

7. Concealor

lately ive been using my studio sculpt concealor + my BE concealor to set it. but any type of under eye concealor is a must for my every day....need to cover those dark circles :)

i knowww i've been so lacking on the posts and blog reading lately....back to spring/summer school its only been 2 weeks and i've already had 2 midterms its crazyyy! the good thing is i go on 2 Vacations in June....Houstan and Cubaaaa i cant waitt! I finally get to go to a target hahah after sooo long + hopefully a CCO somewhere! But i need to tame myself on the spending and pay my bills first. I officially skipped the rose romance collection...and im TRYINGG not to get anything from style warriors....although the cute packaging is def drawing me in!

Maybe yes...Maybe no? Suggestions?

Ok so i'm in desperate need of some opinions lol sooo theres this really awesome GWP at Sears [a dept. store in Canada] and you only have to spend $26.50 and this is what you get: Awesome right?!??! i want BOTH haha more of the LIP choice b/c the small lippie bag is so cute! So I used to be a die hard Clinique fan, when I had a friend who worked at the Clinique Counter I was totally hooked on it all. I have soooo many GWP's that I still haven't opened! loll but i wanttt this one. But not sure what's left for me to try! lol so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know :) otherwise I may have to pass on this fab GWP lol because I'm honestly stumped and have no idea what to get lol

BUT...lol i'm not sure if i should pass on this because I am on a budget and have been. As I mentioned in my previous post i need to start saving $$ and paying my bills before I buy anymore beauty products. I have the whole thought of yeah..they'll always be GWP's so i could skip on this one and another one will come. But i dont know haha im soo stuck! lol

So thats my dilemma....let me know if you have any suggestions :) haha because clearly im undecided! heh

FOTD: Mac too dolly look + Valentines Day + Mac Haul

Happy 2 day late valentines day!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed vday! I had work in the morning, then an audition for a feature film coming up that will be filming here. so didn't do much vday stuff until the evening. Soo after the audition I went over to MAC to pick up the studio scuplt foundation. The MUA and I were debating on NC 37 or NC 40. I usually use NC 40 with my mineralzed satin finish, but the studio scuplt is supposadly a tinsy bit darker. So I ended up with the NC 40 and seems to be working just fine. I was worried about the oilness effect i've been reading about and with my t zone being oily i was unsure. But i couldnt resist so I bought it anyway and also went back to pick up the too dolly HK palette, fun and games HK beauty powder blush, as well as the infamous 109 brush. And after checking out some of the moisturizers the MUA convinced me to get the stobe cream which I am inlove with, but i think im going to swap it for the stobe liquid so mixing it with my foundation will be easier. pics of the haul to follow.

Right when I walked in I noticed they were giving the cutest HK tote bags with every MAC purchase, and luckily the MUA gave me two :)

So I went to class, super excited to look at all my HK stuff, and get home a few hours after, only to find a package waiting for me!!!!! EEEEE!! it was my coastal scents package. I couldn't not get the 88 shadow palette as well as the contouring palette.....and a few brushes and gel eye liners. I guess you could say I had a great day today with all this!!!! Still waiting on a package from cherry culture from their 20% off sale. On a side note, they usually don't sell NYX here in Toronto, or at least I haven't been able to find any....until yesterday I randomly saw it at my local drugstore! They didn't have much, and was disappointed to see they didn't have any of the lippies :(

Anyways thats it today, for my first post ever! Any tips on anything else great im missing out on for HK??? ANDDDDD anyoneee know a good trick in getting the awful smell out of the coastal scent brushes :S ....I washed it 3 times with different brush cleaner and soaps, and nothing works!
